War of the Adults Chapter 67 Release date, Chapter 66 Recap & Detailed Fan Analysis

There are chapters that move a story forward, and then there are chapters that make you stop for a second and think about what the author is actually trying to say. War of the Adults Chapter 66 was definitely the second kind for me.

The chapter, titled “Actually, There Are 200 Types of Violence,” takes what could have been a fairly standard revenge fight and turns it into something much more uncomfortable. Yutaro is surrounded, Guppy is beaten badly, and the obvious solution seems simple: Yutaro fights back.

Except he doesn’t.

And honestly, that decision makes the entire chapter much more interesting.

Instead of giving us another flashy confrontation, Kappy and Masaaki Tsuzuki put Yutaro into a situation where his greatest strength — his ability to understand the rules of this brutal environment — also becomes his biggest weakness. Meanwhile, Guppy finally gets pushed far enough to reveal that there is more to him than his usual complaining and selfish behavior.

So, with Chapter 67 scheduled for October 2, 2026, here is my take on what actually happened and where I think the story is heading next.

Chapter 66 Starts With Guppy Making Everything About Money

The opening scenes almost feel strangely calm considering how violent the chapter eventually becomes.

Yutaro and Guppy are trying to figure out how they can reach the exclusive Resort Zone, but Guppy is understandably obsessed with one thing: money.

He wants an easy job that pays well without requiring much thought or specialized ability. When he starts talking about underground fights and making 100,000 Lika quickly, Yutaro basically has enough of his nonsense.

I actually enjoyed this exchange because it reinforces how different these two characters are.

Yutaro thinks in terms of survival and long-term consequences. Guppy wants a shortcut.

Yutaro even points out the sad reality waiting for people who refuse to work, using an elderly man sitting nearby as an example. The message is pretty brutal: if Guppy keeps rejecting every unpleasant option, he could eventually end up in exactly the same situation.

That warning clearly gets under Guppy’s skin.

Guppy’s Real Problem Isn’t Laziness

This is where Chapter 66 becomes more character-driven.

Guppy admits to himself that his frustration with Yutaro isn’t really about money or jobs. He’s jealous.

Yutaro seems capable of navigating situations that leave Guppy completely lost. Guppy compares him to those irritating students who somehow succeeded without appearing to put in much effort.

That insecurity has apparently been building for a while.

He even recognizes that he’s been relying heavily on Oji and other people instead of becoming capable himself. For once, Guppy isn’t simply complaining about his circumstances — he’s actually looking inward.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t get much time to process those feelings.

Sachi’s Introduction Is a Massive Red Flag

The moment Sachi approaches Guppy, I immediately knew something was wrong.

She’s friendly, attractive, and conveniently appears when Guppy is feeling miserable and vulnerable. She claims she recognizes him and offers to cheer him up somewhere private.

Classic trap.

And sure enough, that’s exactly what it is.

While Guppy is being lured away, Yutaro discovers a note telling him to go behind Building 12’s cafeteria. The message makes it obvious that Guppy is in trouble.

Yutaro doesn’t waste time.

He goes straight there.

And that’s when everything falls apart.

Yutaro Walks Straight Into an Ambush

The scene behind the cafeteria is probably the most important part of the chapter.

Guppy has already been beaten, Sachi is standing with the attackers, and the gang clearly planned the entire situation specifically to bring Yutaro into their hands.

The bandaged leader is especially important because he recognizes Yutaro from their previous encounter at Dainihon. The scar on his nose is apparently enough for him to carry a grudge all this time.

The setup is basically perfect for a revenge fight.

Except Yutaro refuses to play along.

He tells them to release Guppy and insists that Guppy has nothing to do with their previous conflict. When the leader starts punching him, Yutaro simply takes it.

No counterattack.

No dramatic comeback.

Nothing.

And that’s where the chapter’s title finally makes sense.

“Violence Doesn’t Come in Different Types”

Guppy’s reaction is completely understandable.

He’s watching his friend get beaten in front of him and basically screams that this is exactly the kind of situation where violence should be justified.

Protecting someone.

Defending yourself.

Stopping an attacker.

Surely those aren’t the same thing as pointless aggression, right?

But Yutaro’s response completely rejects that logic.

“Violence doesn’t come in different types.”

That line is the heart of Chapter 66.

Yutaro isn’t saying that every violent act has identical consequences in the real world. He’s talking about the environment they’re trapped in. Inside this system, once you start fighting, the distinction between “good” and “bad” violence may not matter to the people enforcing the rules.

And I think that’s why Yutaro refuses to hit back.

He’s not simply being noble.

He’s refusing to lose the larger game.

Guppy Finally Does Something Nobody Expects

The gang eventually starts escalating the situation.

Yutaro is being treated like a punching bag, and the attackers clearly want to humiliate him rather than simply settle their old dispute.

That’s when Guppy realizes something important.

Yutaro really isn’t going to fight.

So instead of trying to convince him, Guppy screams at him to run.

Then he does something even crazier.

He runs away himself.

And he starts screaming for the teacher.

At first, it sounds almost ridiculous. Guppy is crying and yelling that he’s going to tell on them like a terrified schoolkid.

But then the gang realizes exactly what he’s doing.

And they panic.

Why Guppy’s “Snitch” Move Actually Works

This was probably my favorite moment in the chapter.

The gang has built its entire strategy around the assumption that everyone follows the same underground rules. Nobody talks. Nobody involves the authorities. Problems get solved through intimidation and violence.

Guppy completely destroys that assumption.

He doesn’t beat anyone.

He doesn’t suddenly become stronger.

He simply uses the system against the people who thought they controlled it.

That’s honestly much more satisfying than another Yutaro power-up would have been.

The chapter ends with the arrival of the terrifying Teacher, accompanied by the promise of “Disciplinary Ironfist Punishment.”

And that’s where Chapter 67 becomes extremely interesting.

What Could Happen in War of the Adults Chapter 67?

Obviously, anything beyond Chapter 66 is speculation. But the final page gives us some pretty strong clues.

1. The Gang Is Probably About to Regret Everything

The most obvious continuation is the Teacher’s punishment.

The attackers were confident because they believed they could control the situation. The second Guppy called for authority, that confidence disappeared.

I’m particularly curious about the bandaged leader.

His entire personality in this chapter is built around intimidation. Watching him suddenly become terrified when the Teacher arrives tells us that the people at the top of this facility are far more frightening than the inmates themselves.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Chapter 67 spends a considerable amount of time showing exactly what “Ironfist Punishment” means.

2. Guppy Might Finally Stop Being Yutaro’s Liability

This is the bigger character development for me.

For most of Chapter 66, Guppy sees Yutaro as someone who has everything figured out. He envies him, complains about him, and thinks Yutaro gets through life too easily.

Then Yutaro takes a beating for him.

Guppy’s response isn’t heroic in the traditional sense. He doesn’t suddenly become a martial arts expert.

Instead, he uses the one weapon available to him:

his voice.

And it works.

That could be the beginning of a much healthier partnership between the two.

Guppy may finally understand that he doesn’t need to become another Yutaro. He needs to figure out what he can contribute himself.

My Biggest Question for Chapter 67

The thing I’m most interested in isn’t whether Yutaro wins or whether the gang gets punished.

It’s what happens after the punishment.

Yutaro has just demonstrated that he understands the facility’s rules better than the people trying to exploit them. Guppy has demonstrated that he’s willing to abandon the inmate code when his friend’s life is on the line.

That changes their relationship.

And it could also change how everyone else sees them.

If the gang is punished severely, other inmates may think twice before targeting Yutaro and Guppy. At the same time, Guppy could gain a reputation for being someone who will actually involve the authorities.

Either way, their social position inside the facility is unlikely to remain the same.

Final Thoughts on War of the Adults Chapter 66

For me, Chapter 66 is one of those chapters where the violence matters less than the decisions surrounding it.

Yutaro doesn’t prove his strength by winning a fight. He proves his understanding of the system by refusing to participate in one.

Guppy doesn’t suddenly become fearless. He gets scared, cries, runs away and calls for help — and somehow that ends up being exactly what they needed.

That’s what makes the chapter work.

The story takes two characters who couldn’t be more different and puts them in a situation where neither traditional strength nor cleverness alone is enough. Yutaro needs Guppy’s willingness to break the expected rules, while Guppy needs Yutaro’s discipline and experience.

Now the Teacher has arrived, the attackers are terrified, and the consequences are about to begin.

If Chapter 66 was about refusing the trap, I suspect Chapter 67 will be about dealing with what happens after the trap fails.

And personally, that’s the part I’m waiting for most.
