I can already imagine the sort of episodes where absolutely nothing important happens to the larger BanG Dream! universe, but you still end up watching because one character stole someone else’s food or because an argument about cleaning the house somehow becomes a full-scale emotional disaster. Those are often the moments that make a fictional band feel like an actual group of friends.

At the same time, the darker implications shouldn’t be ignored. If all five members really are escaping difficult home situations, there is plenty of room for the story to become surprisingly serious. The trailer seems deliberately interested in asking what “family” actually means when your biological family isn’t necessarily the place where you feel safe.
