Deadpool & Wolverine: MCU’s Highly Anticipated Film
One of the most anticipated movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is undoubtedly ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’ This third installment holds particular significance as it not only marks Deadpool’s introduction into the MCU but is also the sole MCU film scheduled for release in 2024. There is hope that it will help restore some of the trust lost among fans due to a string of poorly received movies in recent years.
Teaser Trailer Unveils Intriguing Plot
A recent teaser trailer during the Superbowl provided a glimpse into the movie’s plot. Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, is seen attempting to move on with his life after reuniting with Vanessa in ‘Deadpool 2.’ However, his plans take an unexpected turn when TVA Agent Mr. Paradox apprehends him, the reason for which remains a mystery. The teaser also confirmed the return of several familiar faces from the ‘Deadpool’ series.
Notable comebacks include Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Rob Delaney reprising his role as Peter, and Leslie Uggams returning as Blind Al. The cast also features Karan Soni as Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Shiolo Kutsuna as Yukio, and Lewis Tan back as Shatterstar.
Notable Absences: Cable and Domino
Notably absent from the cast list are two key characters from the previous movie: Josh Brolin’s Cable and Zazie Beetz’s Domino. Beetz had previously mentioned that she wouldn’t be returning, a sentiment confirmed by Brolin in a recent interview with Collider.
When asked about the absence, Brolin jokingly suggested that Ryan Reynolds doesn’t like him. This statement is hard to believe given Reynolds’ reputation for being great to work with. Additionally, the plot presents a challenge as Cable’s time-traveling devices played a significant role in reviving almost half of the current movie’s cast. The post-credit scene of ‘Deadpool 2’ hinted at “Cable is going to kill Deadpool” once he discovers what Wade has done.
While it’s disappointing that Domino and Cable won’t be featured in the film, Brolin hinted at rumors of Thanos returning to the MCU, providing a silver lining for fans.
