His ability to survive fatal injuries has always been one of the most important safety nets in the story. Julian can essentially continue moving forward because death isn’t necessarily the end for him.

The Void-Marcher wasn’t just another enemy. She represented an almost mythical level of combat ability. Her defeat demonstrates that Lukas’ new form isn’t simply stronger than the characters we’ve already seen.

It may operate according to an entirely different set of rules.

Here’s how I currently see the hierarchy of the Phantom Spear’s abilities:

• Physical destruction: It can penetrate an otherwise extremely powerful opponent.
• Regeneration negation: Healing abilities become far less useful.
• Conceptual destruction: The attack appears to interfere with the fundamental idea of life.
• Immortality bypass: Extra lives or similar survival mechanisms may no longer provide protection.

And honestly, that last point is what worries me the most.

Because if Lukas can permanently kill Julian, then Julian can’t simply stand in front of him and wait for the transformation to burn itself out.

My Biggest Theory for Chapter 101: Julian Has to Reach Lukas Emotionally

Instead, I expect the story to slow down.

Lukas has seemingly lost his connection to his normal human consciousness, and that’s exactly what makes him dangerous. If he’s simply acting on instinct while carrying a weapon capable of conceptual destruction, nobody around him is safe.

And Julian has a massive problem.

He can’t afford to fight Lukas.

Normally, Julian’s ability to survive death would encourage him to take risks. Against Lukas, that strategy could be suicidal in the most literal sense.

So I think Julian will have to do something much more difficult: bring Lukas back to himself.

This would also fit the emotional side of Centuria much better than another straightforward power clash.

Instead of asking, “Who is stronger?”, Chapter 101 could ask:

“Can Julian still reach his friend?”

That is a much more interesting question.

What Happens to the Rummir Forces?

The death of the Void-Marcher should also have enormous consequences beyond the immediate battlefield.

If an almost legendary Rummir warrior has been killed so suddenly, the psychological impact on the surrounding soldiers could be enormous.

Imagine being part of an army that believes one of its strongest figures is practically impossible to defeat, only to watch her get completely overwhelmed by something that looks less like a human warrior and more like a walking natural disaster.

A retreat would make perfect sense.

However, I don’t think Rummir is going to simply forget what happened.

If anything, Lukas may have just placed an enormous target on himself.

The higher-ranking authorities could begin treating him as an existential threat rather than another enemy combatant. That opens the door for stronger hunters, political consequences, and potentially new factions entering the story.

Will Julian’s Group Escape to Torivia?

This is another possibility I really like.

If the battlefield temporarily collapses into chaos, Julian’s group finally has an opportunity to move.

The problem is that they’re carrying more than just physical baggage. Lukas himself could become the biggest danger to everyone around him if his transformation remains active.

I can easily imagine a Chapter 101 ending where the group manages to escape the immediate battle, only for Lukas to collapse after the transformation finally starts fading.

That would give the story a perfect transition from massive supernatural battle into a more intimate survival arc.

And honestly, after Chapter 100, I think Centuria needs that breathing room.

What I Expect From Chapter 101

Here are the developments I’d personally watch most closely:

1. Julian tries to communicate with Lukas instead of fighting him.
2. Lukas’ transformed state begins showing a physical or psychological cost.
3. The surviving Rummir forces retreat and report what happened.
4. Julian’s group attempts to leave the battlefield.
5. The story gives us more information about the Forest Entity and the true nature of Lukas’ power.

The fifth point is the one I’m really hoping for.

We’ve seen the result of Lukas’ transformation, but we still don’t completely understand the price behind it.

And in a manga like Centuria, power without a cost would feel almost too convenient.

The Fujimoto Influence Is Still Interesting

One thing I particularly enjoy about Centuria is how willing it is to make its artwork uncomfortable.

The series doesn’t always rely on traditional clean battle manga compositions. It can suddenly become chaotic, oppressive, or almost surreal. Characters can feel tiny against enormous black spaces, while certain visual moments seem designed more to create anxiety than simply show action.

That reminded me of the kind of visual storytelling I love in Tatsuki Fujimoto’s work, particularly when the manga wants to make the reader feel powerless.

The important thing, though, is that Centuria doesn’t simply feel like a copy of Chainsaw Man.

It has developed its own identity through its darker fantasy atmosphere, strange mythology, and emphasis on survival.

My prediction is that the next chapter won’t try to top Chapter 100 with an even bigger fight. Instead, I think it will focus on the aftermath, Lukas’ mental state, and Julian’s desperate attempt to save his friend without becoming the next victim of the Phantom Spear.

If that happens, I think it could be even more tense than the battle itself.
