Eventually, Grid and Irene marry inside Satisfy.

That virtual marriage becomes one of the defining moments of Grid’s early story. Irene isn’t merely a temporary crush or a convenient quest character. She becomes an important part of his emotional life, and their relationship continues to influence Grid’s decisions long after the wedding.
