That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Chapter 146: Release Date, Chapter 145 True Ending & Fan Breakdown

If there is one thing I love about That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura), it is the way the series can turn a seemingly impossible fight into a chess match between characters who are already ridiculously powerful. Chapter 145 is a perfect example of that.

The latest chapter, “The Will of Ruin”, doesn’t simply end with another huge attack or a dramatic power-up. Instead, it gives us something much more interesting: Rimuru, Veldora, and Leon Cromwell finally standing together against Chronoa.

And honestly, that final setup might be one of my favorite Tensura cliffhangers in a long time.

So, what happens next? When is That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Chapter 146 coming out? And what exactly is going on with Chloe and Hinata inside Chronoa?

Here is my full fan breakdown.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Chapter 146 Release Date

The Tensura manga continues to follow its monthly serialization schedule in Kodansha’s Monthly Shōnen Sirius.

ChapterExpected Release
Chapter 145August 25–26, 2026
Chapter 146September 25–26, 2026

Based on the current schedule, Chapter 146 is expected around September 25–26, 2026.

The English digital version should follow through licensed platforms such as K MANGA, although the exact availability can vary by region and service.

One thing I would keep in mind, though: monthly manga schedules can change. So while late September is the current expectation, I wouldn’t treat the date as absolutely guaranteed until Kodansha confirms it.

Chapter 145 Ending Explained: The Battle Suddenly Becomes Much More Complicated

For me, the most important part of Chapter 145 isn’t simply that Chronoa is incredibly dangerous.

It is why Rimuru suddenly refuses to treat her as an enemy who needs to be destroyed.

The situation becomes much more delicate once Rimuru understands that Chloe Aubert and Hinata Sakaguchi are connected to what is happening inside Chronoa. At that point, throwing everything they have at her would be incredibly reckless.

Rimuru basically has to change the entire objective.

This isn’t about winning a normal battle anymore.

It’s about stopping Chronoa without destroying the people trapped within the situation.

And that’s exactly where Leon becomes important.

Leon Doesn’t Want to Trust Rimuru

Leon understandably pushes back against Rimuru’s decision.

From his perspective, simply stopping the attack against a threat of Chronoa’s level sounds insane. If Chronoa gets the opportunity to attack freely, everyone around her could be put in danger.

Rimuru, however, doesn’t respond with some giant declaration of superiority.

He simply asks Leon to trust him.

That small moment actually says a lot about how Rimuru has developed. Earlier in the story, Rimuru often solved problems by overwhelming them with his growing abilities. Here, his greatest weapon is arguably something else:

coordination.

Leon eventually agrees to follow Rimuru’s plan, even admitting that he has his own reason for going along with it.

And that line immediately made me suspicious.

What exactly does Leon want to confirm?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Chapter 146 starts revealing the answer.

Veldora Is the Perfect Partner for Rimuru’s Plan

Then we get the other piece of the puzzle: Veldora.

Rimuru tells him that he needs to restrain Chronoa.

Veldora’s response is basically, “Leave it to me.”

What I really enjoy about this exchange is how little explanation Veldora needs.

He trusts Rimuru completely.

There is no long tactical meeting. No dramatic argument. No demand for a complete explanation.

Rimuru says he needs Veldora to hold Chronoa down, and Veldora is ready to do exactly that.

But this creates an interesting tactical problem.

Veldora cannot simply unleash everything he has.

If Chloe and Hinata are still involved with Chronoa, an indiscriminate True Dragon-level attack could potentially make the situation much worse.

That means Chapter 146 could give us something we don’t often get in Tensura:

A high-level fight where raw destructive power isn’t the answer.

Veldora may have to rely on physical restraint, defense, positioning, and carefully controlled attacks instead of simply turning the battlefield into a crater.

Personally, I think that could make the next chapter much more entertaining than another giant beam clash.

The Three-Man Formation Is the Real Chapter 145 Cliffhanger

The final image is what really sells the chapter.

Rimuru. Leon. Veldora.

Three extremely powerful figures standing together and preparing to confront Chronoa.

That combination is almost absurd when you stop and think about it.

Rimuru brings his tactical intelligence and Ciel’s calculations.

Veldora brings overwhelming physical and spiritual power.

Leon brings his own immense abilities and, perhaps more importantly, knowledge about what he believes is happening.

They aren’t simply three characters attacking the same opponent.

They each appear to have a specific job.

Veldora is the restraint.

Leon is the observer and defensive specialist.

Rimuru is the coordinator.

And somewhere behind all of this, Ciel is calculating the solution.

That’s why I think the title of the chapter’s final setup is so appropriate: these three aren’t fighting as individuals anymore.

They’re functioning as one tactical unit.

My Biggest Predictions for Chapter 146

Obviously, these are predictions rather than confirmed events. The manga hasn’t shown us the full battle yet, so I don’t want to pretend speculation is canon.

That said, there are several directions that make a lot of sense.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Chapter 146: Release Date, Chapter 145 True Ending & Fan Breakdown

1. Veldora Will Focus on Restraining Chronoa

I expect Veldora to become the physical anchor of the entire operation.

Instead of immediately throwing out his strongest ranged attacks, he may attempt to keep Chronoa occupied and prevent her from moving freely.

That could lead to a surprisingly physical confrontation.

Chronoa’s attacks are terrifying, so Veldora won’t have an easy time. But his role isn’t necessarily to defeat her.

His job is to buy Rimuru enough time.

And considering Veldora’s personality, I can already imagine him enjoying every second of it.

2. Leon’s “Confirmation” Will Become Important

This is probably the part I’m most curious about.

Leon specifically says that he has something he wants to confirm.

That feels far too deliberate to be throwaway dialogue.

I think Chapter 146 could spend more time showing Leon analyzing Chronoa rather than simply attacking her.

His perspective is especially valuable because he isn’t approaching the situation exactly like Rimuru or Veldora.

If Leon notices something that confirms his suspicion, it could completely change how the group handles Chronoa.

3. Ciel Will Search for a Way Into the Problem

Whenever Rimuru gets trapped in a complicated supernatural situation, Ciel is usually the character quietly working on the impossible solution in the background.

That’s why I expect the next chapter to emphasize the spiritual and soul-related mechanics of the situation.

The biggest challenge isn’t simply overpowering Chronoa.

It’s figuring out how to separate the conflicting elements inside her without causing catastrophic damage.

If Rimuru can create an opening, Ciel should be the one trying to exploit it.

And honestly, this is exactly the kind of ridiculous problem Ciel was made for.

Why Chapter 146 Could Be Different From a Normal Tensura Battle

One reason I’m particularly excited for this chapter is that the conflict isn’t based purely on “who has the bigger Ultimate Skill?”

There is a much more interesting condition:

They need to win without destroying what they’re trying to save.

That completely changes the battlefield.

Rimuru can’t simply go all-out.

Veldora can’t just obliterate everything in front of him.

Leon has to remain alert.

And Chronoa herself represents a situation that can’t be solved through brute force alone.

For a series as power-heavy as Tensura, I genuinely enjoy these kinds of encounters because they remind us that strategy still matters even when everyone involved is absurdly powerful.

The Bigger Tensura Picture

This arc also feels important because of where the manga currently sits within the larger story.

The manga adaptation is moving through major material from the Light Novel, while Taiki Kawakami continues translating some enormous confrontations into visual form.

And that’s one of the things I appreciate most about this adaptation.

Some Tensura battles can become difficult to visualize when you’re dealing with Ultimate Skills, spiritual bodies, time-related abilities, and characters operating on completely different levels of existence.

The manga gives those moments a physical identity.

The final pages of Chapter 145 are a great example.

Seeing Rimuru, Veldora, and Leon positioned together communicates the scale of the situation almost instantly.

Final Thoughts: I’m More Interested in the Strategy Than the Power-Up

If I’m being honest, I don’t think Chapter 146 needs another massive power-up to be exciting.

We already know how powerful these characters are.

What I want to see is how Rimuru actually solves this impossible situation.

The most interesting question isn’t whether Veldora can overpower Chronoa.

It’s whether Rimuru, Ciel, Leon, and Veldora can create a solution that protects Chloe and Hinata while neutralizing the threat.

That gives Chapter 146 a much more interesting hook than a simple “next boss battle.”

The final image of Chapter 145 feels like the calm before something enormous.

Rimuru has a plan. Veldora trusts him. Leon has his own suspicions. And Chronoa is still standing.

Now we just have to wait for September to find out whether Rimuru’s gamble actually works.

For me, that’s exactly where That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Chapter 146 becomes exciting.
