Shion has crossed another threshold. Granbell’s story appears to be approaching its final chapter. Luminous is being forced to confront someone whose beliefs directly challenge her own. And Rimuru has walked into a spiritual mystery involving Chloe, Hinata, Chronoa, and now Shizu.

That’s a ridiculous number of story threads for one monthly chapter.

The Shizu scene is especially interesting because it doesn’t feel like something that exists purely for nostalgia. Her appearance inside Chloe’s mental landscape could connect Rimuru’s past with the current Chloe storyline in a way that changes how we understand both.

For me, that’s what makes That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Chapter 147 so exciting. I’m less interested in seeing another giant attack than I am in finding out what the story does with the consequences of Chapter 146.
