Centuria Chapter 100 Predictions: Ark’s Phantom Spear Metamorphosis and ‘The Final Century’ Masterplan

Centuria Chapter 100 is shaping up to be one of those milestone chapters where the story can either explode into something completely new or leave readers staring at the last page wondering what on earth just happened. After Chapter 99, I honestly think Tohru Kuramori has put Ark in the most dangerous position he has ever been in—not because he is weak, but because he finally received exactly the kind of power he thought he wanted.

And that distinction matters.

Ark spent so much of the story representing protection, restraint, and the idea that strength exists to keep other people alive. Chapter 99 tears that philosophy apart. His shield is no longer enough, his body is pushed beyond its limits, and the mysterious forest deity answers his desperate wish by giving him the Phantom Spear.

That transformation is spectacular on a visual level, but the emotional side is what makes it genuinely unsettling. Ark didn’t simply unlock a stronger version of his old ability. He effectively abandoned the principle that defined him.

So, with Centuria Chapter 100 approaching, here is my take on where the story could go next—and why I don’t think Ark’s new form is going to be the straightforward power-up some readers are expecting.

Chapter 99 Was Really About Breaking Ark

One of my favorite things about Chapter 99 is how deliberately Kuramori contrasts Ark’s past with his present.

We see a younger Ark with Julian in a peaceful garden, surrounded by flowers and ordinary tools. It’s almost painfully gentle compared with what happens later. Ark is insecure about his defensive ability, but Julian doesn’t treat the shield as something inferior. He tells him that it represents his kindness and his desire to protect people.

That scene becomes much more important once we return to the forest.

Ark is no longer the inexperienced child who needs reassurance. He is bleeding, exhausted, surrounded by death, and watching everything he believes in collapse around him. His shield cannot solve the problem in front of him. Eventually, he reaches the conclusion that defense alone isn’t enough.

That is where the tragedy begins.

Ark doesn’t become the Phantom Spear because he suddenly wants power for himself. He wants enough power to destroy the things threatening the people he cares about. That’s almost exactly what makes the transformation so dangerous.

The Phantom Spear Is More Than a New Power

The forest deity’s answer is terrifying because it seems to take Ark’s wish completely literally. Instead of giving him a conventional weapon, it transforms him into something that barely resembles the person we knew.

The imagery is deliberately extreme. Ark’s body becomes a massive, organic, centaur-like weapon, with his physical form incorporated into a gigantic spear-like structure. The dark covering around his head makes him look less like a warrior and more like a creature that exists purely for destruction.

And then comes the frightening promise of the Phantom Spear: a power capable of piercing heaven and earth and annihilating creation itself.

That wording should immediately make readers suspicious.

In manga, whenever a character receives an ability described in absurdly absolute terms, there is usually a catch. I would be very surprised if Ark simply gets to run around in Chapter 100 destroying everything without consequences.

For me, that is the real hook for Centuria Chapter 100. The question isn’t simply, “How strong is Ark now?” The better question is, “How much of Ark is still inside that thing?”

My Biggest Chapter 100 Prediction: Ark Will Lose Control

If I had to bet on one development, this would be it.

I don’t think Ark’s first major Phantom Spear appearance will end with a clean victory. I think Kuramori is setting up a situation where Ark becomes too dangerous to control.

Remember what motivated the transformation. Ark wanted the power to destroy anything and everything. That’s an incredibly different mindset from the young man Julian taught to value his shield.

Imagine what happens if that command becomes the fundamental instinct of his new form.

He could defeat the enemy in front of him and then keep charging.

He could mistake another soldier for an enemy.

He could even attack someone who is trying to save him.

And that is where Atoria becomes incredibly important.

I can easily imagine Chapter 100 giving us a brutal sequence where Atoria refuses to run from Ark. Instead of trying to overpower the Phantom Spear, she attempts to reach the person buried underneath the transformation.

That would bring the story full circle. The character whose power was originally connected to protection would need someone else to protect him.

The High Command Has Created Its Own Nightmare

Another part of Chapter 99 that shouldn’t be overlooked is the revelation surrounding the military leadership.

The commanders weren’t simply reacting to the battlefield crisis. They deliberately manipulated the circumstances surrounding the young fighters. They knew Atoria still had enough life force for another healing attempt, yet that information was withheld because the leadership wanted to push their soldiers closer to death.

That is absolutely ruthless.

Their objective is supposedly the Final Century, a future without war. But the irony is almost too obvious: they’re attempting to manufacture peace by deliberately turning their own soldiers into weapons.

That’s why I don’t believe the Final Century is going to remain a simple “good goal, bad methods” storyline. Kuramori seems much more interested in asking whether a peaceful world is actually worth creating if the price is the destruction of the people who are supposed to live in it.

Could Lukas Become Ark’s Counterweight?

There is another possibility I can’t ignore: Lukas.

The story has already established that Lukas is unusual because he possesses two separate gifts. If the military has been manipulating events specifically to force these gifted fighters into awakening their deeper abilities, then Lukas almost certainly has a role to play in the next stage.

My guess is that Chapter 100 could put Lukas and Ark on opposite sides of the same problem.

Ark represents uncontrolled destructive potential. Lukas may become the person capable of stopping him.

That doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll get an immediate Ark vs. Lukas fight. Personally, I’d rather see something more complicated. Lukas could try to restrain Ark while realizing that Ark isn’t actually choosing what his transformed body is doing.

That would create a much stronger conflict than another simple power comparison.

Julian Could Be the Biggest Wild Card

Then there’s Julian, and this is where the story could become even more interesting.

The military’s plans depend heavily on the larger strategic conflict and the coming confrontation with Cedric. The remaining two-week window gives Kuramori a very useful ticking clock.

Julian has already been placed in an emotionally complicated position. He has ties to the system, but he also cares deeply about the younger characters who have effectively become its disposable weapons.

Seeing what happened to Ark could be the final push.

If Julian realizes that the military deliberately engineered the circumstances that forced Ark into becoming the Phantom Spear, I can absolutely see his loyalty beginning to collapse.

And honestly, I think that would be more interesting than simply giving Julian another big fight.

What I Think Chapter 100 Needs to Deliver

Chapter 100 doesn’t need to introduce an even bigger monster. Ark’s transformation is already big enough. What I want from the milestone chapter is consequence.

• Show the cost of the Phantom Spear. The transformation needs a meaningful drawback.
• Bring Ark’s identity into question. We need to know whether he can still control himself.
• Make Atoria matter. Her remaining healing ability could become the emotional centerpiece of the chapter.
• Push Lukas into the conflict. His two gifts feel far too important to leave on the sidelines.
• Expose more of the Final Century plan. The military conspiracy needs to move from background manipulation into open conflict.

My Final Prediction for Centuria Chapter 100

If I were placing a bet, I’d say Chapter 100 won’t simply be “Ark gets stronger and defeats everyone.” That would be the least interesting direction possible after everything Kuramori has built.

I expect Ark to win the immediate confrontation—or at least gain a massive advantage—but lose control of the Phantom Spear in the process. Atoria will probably be one of the few people capable of reaching whatever remains of Ark’s consciousness. Lukas may then be forced to intervene, not necessarily as an enemy, but as a last-resort restraint.

Meanwhile, the High Command could finally realize that their experiment has gone too far.

And that’s the delicious irony of the whole situation.

They wanted to create soldiers powerful enough to end war forever. Instead, they may have created something that cannot distinguish between the people it is supposed to save and the people it is supposed to destroy.

That is exactly the kind of dark-fantasy twist that fits Centuria.

The Phantom Spear looks like a power-up on the surface, but I think it’s actually a punishment. Ark asked for the strength to destroy everything because his shield failed him. Now he has that strength. The question is whether he can survive becoming the thing that possesses it.

With Centuria Chapter 100 officially scheduled for August 23, 2026, the next chapter has the chance to turn Ark’s transformation from an impressive cliffhanger into one of the most important character moments in the entire series.

And personally? I’m much more interested in seeing Ark struggle to remain human than watching him simply become the strongest character on the battlefield.

Centuria has always been at its best when power comes with pain. The Phantom Spear looks like the ultimate expression of that idea.
