Will There Be A Season 2 The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip – Renewal Status, and Plot Expectations
There’s something incredibly easy to like about The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World. It doesn’t try to turn every episode into a world-ending battle or make its protagonist scream about becoming the strongest person alive. Instead, it gives us Rin Takanashi, a 30-year-old camping enthusiast who gets thrown into another world, gets rejected by royalty, and basically decides that she would rather travel around in her magical camper van and eat good food.
Honestly, that was probably the best possible decision for this anime.
The series premiered on July 6, 2026, with EMT Squared handling the animation. Its combination of fantasy travel, cooking, camping and laid-back isekai comedy quickly found an audience among viewers who enjoy shows such as Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill and Laid-Back Camp.
With the 12-episode first season now finished in September 2026, attention has naturally shifted toward The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip Season 2.
So, is another season actually happening?
Has The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip Been Renewed for Season 2?
As of September 2026, Season 2 has not been officially announced.
There has been no confirmed renewal from EMT Squared, Kadokawa, or the production committee. That might sound worrying at first, but I wouldn’t read too much into the silence yet.
Anime renewals often take time, especially for shows that aren’t positioned as enormous mainstream blockbusters. Producers have to look at streaming performance, merchandise, source-material sales, international licensing and the overall response before committing to another production.
The good news is that the anime doesn’t appear to have a source-material problem.
And that’s a pretty important point.

For now, I’d treat Season 2 as possible rather than confirmed.
There Is Plenty of Story Left
One of the biggest reasons I’m not particularly concerned about the possibility of a continuation is the amount of material available.
The original light novels by Yoneori, illustrated by Akane Nito, began on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2019 before receiving a physical release through Kadokawa. The seventh volume was released in Japan on July 10, 2026, right around the beginning of the anime’s broadcast.
There’s also an ongoing manga adaptation by Nana Kogami, with its fourth compiled volume released in 2025.
That gives the anime a comfortable amount of material to work with.
Season 1 appears to cover approximately the first three to four light novel volumes. That leaves several volumes of material that haven’t been animated yet, meaning EMT Squared wouldn’t need to wait years for the author to produce enough new content.
That’s always encouraging when we’re talking about Season 2 of a light novel anime.
Why Rin Makes This Isekai Work
The biggest reason I enjoyed this series is probably Rin herself.
She’s not written like the typical teenage isekai protagonist who immediately discovers an absurd combat ability and starts collecting titles. Rin is older, practical and much more interested in making her new life comfortable than becoming some legendary hero.
Her supposedly useless abilities, Motor House and Survival, turn out to be exactly what she needs.
Instead of chasing the kingdom’s expectations, Rin summons a fully equipped camper van and starts traveling.
That simple premise gives the show a very different rhythm.
There are:
- Fantasy ingredients to discover
- Campsites to set up
- New recipes to experiment with
- Dungeons to explore
- Companions to feed
- Plenty of opportunities for Rin to make the most of her bizarre skill set
And yes, watching characters become ridiculously excited over food remains one of the most entertaining parts of the show.
What Could Happen in Season 2?
If a second season gets the green light, I expect the story to continue expanding the travel aspect rather than suddenly becoming a huge political fantasy.
Rin, Ville, Aria and the rest of the group have plenty of unexplored territory ahead of them. The obvious next step is more dangerous dungeons, stranger ingredients and stronger monsters.
Rin’s Motor House skill could also become increasingly useful.
Her magical vehicle isn’t just transportation. It’s basically her home, kitchen, storage system and survival base rolled into one. As the traveling party grows, it makes sense for the ability to evolve as well.
We could potentially see:
- Larger and more comfortable living spaces
- Better cooking equipment
- Improved survival tools
- More advanced storage
- New camping facilities
- Stronger support abilities for long-distance travel
That kind of progression fits this anime much better than simply giving Rin another ridiculously powerful attack.
The Kingdom Problem Isn’t Going Away
There is also the unresolved issue of the kingdom that summoned Rin in the first place.
The people who dismissed her abilities initially had no idea what they were throwing away. As Rin travels farther and the stories surrounding her spread, it’s easy to imagine the royal family eventually hearing about the mysterious woman traveling in a magical metal carriage and producing food with extraordinary effects.
That’s where the story could get interesting.
The kingdom may eventually realize that Rin wasn’t useless at all. In fact, her abilities might be far more valuable than anyone expected.
Still, I hope the anime doesn’t allow this subplot to completely take over.
One of the best things about The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip is that Rin doesn’t seem particularly interested in proving anything to the people who rejected her. She’s happier traveling, camping and eating with her friends.
I’d much rather see the royal drama remain a background thread while the main story continues to focus on the road.
When Could Season 2 Release?
This is the part where fans should probably be patient.
Even if EMT Squared and the production committee announced Season 2 relatively soon, animation takes time. Scripts, storyboards, scheduling, voice recording and production would all have to be arranged before the episodes could actually reach viewers.
A realistic estimate would put a potential second season around late 2028 or early 2029.
That’s obviously not an official release date. It’s simply a reasonable window based on the amount of time a new 12-episode anime production can require.
Possible Timeline
- Late 2026: Renewal decision could potentially happen.
- 2027–2028: Pre-production and animation work.
- Late 2028–Early 2029: Possible Season 2 premiere window.
Until an official announcement arrives, though, none of these dates should be treated as confirmed.
The HIDIVE Factor
International performance could also matter.
The series received an English dub on HIDIVE beginning August 19, 2026, giving Western viewers another way to experience the show. For a cozy fantasy series like this, international streaming is particularly important because the audience isn’t necessarily limited to traditional Japanese home-video buyers.
The show’s appeal is also easy to understand outside Japan. Camping, food, travel and fantasy creatures are a pretty universal combination.
If the streaming numbers are strong enough, that can give the production committee another reason to continue the franchise.
My Take on Season 2
I think this is exactly the kind of anime that benefits from having another season.
Not because it needs to become bigger or louder, but because the basic premise has plenty of room to breathe.
Rin can visit new regions, discover unusual ingredients, meet new characters and turn increasingly ridiculous fantasy situations into another camping trip. That’s enough for me.
The anime doesn’t need to reinvent itself.
Give Rin a bigger map, better recipes, a few new companions and some genuinely strange dungeons, and I’d happily watch another 12 episodes.
For now, though, The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip Season 2 remains unconfirmed. The available light novel material is encouraging, the first season has established a recognizable niche, and the story clearly has somewhere to go. What we’re missing is the one thing fans actually need: an official renewal announcement.
Until that happens, I’ll be keeping an eye on Kadokawa and EMT Squared’s announcements.
And hopefully, when Season 2 finally arrives, Rin will still be doing what she does best: ignoring unnecessary royal drama, parking the camper somewhere beautiful, and cooking an absurdly good meal.
