You have Henblitz towering around 185 cm, Beryl at roughly 180 cm, Randrid around 178 cm, Surena at 174 cm, and then the female characters gradually move toward the 160–150 cm range.

That gives the cast a more natural visual variety.

Curuni standing at approximately 152 cm while carrying a giant sword creates an immediate silhouette. Surena’s taller athletic frame reinforces her aggressive fighting style. Beryl’s relatively tall, broad build makes his habit of hunching and apologizing even funnier.

The characters don’t simply have different personalities. Their designs communicate those personalities before they even speak.

Final Thoughts: Beryl’s Greatest Strength Isn’t His Sword

For me, the best thing about From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman isn’t the power fantasy.

It’s the relationship between experience and self-perception.

Beryl has spent so much of his life believing that he isn’t exceptional that he can’t see what everyone else sees. His students became knights, adventurers, commanders, and elite fighters, but in his mind he’s still the guy from a small countryside dojo.
