It’s a subtle scene, but probably one of the strongest emotional moments in the series so far.

While examining the mysterious familiar accompanying the elven sibling, Gil remembers his childhood—forgotten, nameless, and completely unknown to the Hero.
That’s when everything clicks.
If the Hero never even knew Gil existed, how could he have personally written a will addressed specifically to him?
That realization changes the entire inheritance game.
Rather than being a carefully planned final wish, the battle royale begins looking like an automated system that simply keeps running after the Hero’s death.
Personally, I love this twist because it makes the conflict feel much larger than family drama. The real enemy may not be the siblings at all—it could be the mechanism forcing them into conflict.
The Elf Makes the Most Important Decision Yet
Until now, the mysterious elf mostly preferred staying away from everyone else’s problems.
Chapter 25 completely changes that.
Instead of suggesting another battle, he offers something almost impossible.

It’s an incredibly simple idea, yet one that threatens the entire foundation of the inheritance contest.
His real objective isn’t defeating stronger siblings.

The Final Pages Were Incredible
One thing I especially enjoyed was the ending montage.
Rather than immediately introducing every remaining sibling, the manga gives readers brief glimpses that create far more excitement than full reveals ever could.

- A terrifying sea monster sibling controlling enormous tentacles.

Every silhouette feels distinct, making it obvious that each sibling has their own identity instead of being another generic opponent.

Mishra arrives at a very interesting moment.
She’s unpredictable, powerful, and doesn’t exactly fit the image of someone interested in peaceful negotiations.
If Gil manages to convince her that cooperation is possible, it’ll prove his plan has genuine potential.

Why I’m More Excited Than Ever
One thing I’ve really appreciated about The Hero’s Bereaved Family is that it refuses to stay predictable.
Many death-game manga eventually become a series of stronger enemies appearing one after another.
This story seems interested in something more complicated.
Instead of asking, “Who wins?”, it’s starting to ask, “Who created these rules, and can they be broken?”
That’s a much more interesting mystery.
Gil also continues growing naturally as a protagonist. He’s not becoming stronger because of some hidden power-up. His greatest strength is empathy—something none of the inheritance system’s rules seem prepared for.
If the manga continues balancing emotional storytelling with political strategy and dark fantasy world-building, Chapter 26 could be the beginning of its strongest arc yet.
