If there is one thing Grand Blue Dreaming has never been particularly interested in, it is behaving like a normal anime.

Most shows return with a dramatic recap, a serious new villain, and a carefully worded promise that everything is about to get darker. Grand Blue basically kicks down the door, sets somebody’s clothes on fire, opens another bottle, and asks whether anyone remembered to bring the diving license.

That is exactly why Grand Blue Dreaming Season 3 feels so exciting.

After the events of Season 2, the return of Iori Kitahara, Kohei Imamura, Chisa Kotegawa and the rest of the Peek-a-Boo crew has been one of the highlights of the Summer 2026 anime season for me. And with the story moving toward the Palau arc, the series finally has a chance to combine the two things it does best: gorgeous underwater scenery and absolutely unhinged comedy.

Here is my updated Grand Blue Dreaming Season 3 episode schedule, along with the US release times, where to watch, and my thoughts on what makes this season worth following.

The Palau Arc Is Exactly What Grand Blue Needed

One of the funniest things about Grand Blue is the gap between how beautiful the series can look and how ridiculous its characters can be five seconds later.

The diving scenes can genuinely feel relaxing. You get tropical water, colorful marine life and the sense that Iori might finally be enjoying a peaceful moment.

Then someone starts screaming.

Then someone loses their passport.

Then Kohei probably makes everything worse.

That contrast is the heart of the franchise, and the Palau storyline gives Season 3 a much bigger playground.

Instead of keeping the cast primarily around their familiar Japanese locations, the story pushes them toward an international diving trip. That change gives the anime a fresh visual identity while still allowing the familiar Peek-a-Boo chaos to continue.

Personally, this is the part of Season 3 I was most curious about. Grand Blue has always worked best when the diving isn’t simply background decoration. When the series remembers that it is actually about scuba diving, friendship and the weird culture surrounding the sport, it becomes much more interesting than a standard comedy.

And then, naturally, somebody gets drunk.

For viewers following the anime from the United States, the weekly schedule is especially easy to remember: new episodes are expected on Mondays.

The currently listed schedule runs through September, with Episode 8 already released and the remaining episodes still ahead.

At the moment, August 31 is the date to circle on your calendar if you’ve already caught up through Episode 8.

The final stretch should then continue weekly into September, assuming there are no programming changes.

What Time Does Grand Blue Season 3 Release in the USA?

This is where anime scheduling gets unnecessarily confusing.

The Japanese broadcast takes place late at night, while international streaming makes the same episode available much earlier in the day for American viewers. According to the schedule outlined for the season, the US streaming release is centered around 8:30 AM Pacific Time on Mondays.

That translates roughly to:

• 8:30 AM PT — Pacific Time
• 9:30 AM MT — Mountain Time
• 10:30 AM CT — Central Time
• 11:30 AM ET — Eastern Time
• 7:30 AM Alaska Time
• 5:30 AM Hawaii Time

So yes, East Coast fans have the easy version of this deal: wake up, grab coffee, and Grand Blue is waiting.

For West Coast viewers, 8:30 AM is still pretty reasonable. Hawaii viewers, however, are dealing with a considerably less civilized 5:30 AM release if they absolutely need to watch immediately.

Honestly, for a show about people making terrible decisions, waking up at 5:30 AM for a new episode feels oddly appropriate.

Where Can You Watch Grand Blue Dreaming Season 3?

For US viewers, Crunchyroll is the main destination listed for the Season 3 simulcast.

The important thing with anime streaming is that licensing can vary significantly between seasons. Grand Blue itself is a good example of that, since its distribution history has changed over the years.

For Season 3, viewers looking for the current English-subtitled release should check the show’s listing on Crunchyroll rather than assuming that an older streaming service still holds the rights.

That is especially important if you’re searching for the anime and finding outdated articles from the Season 1 era.

Why I’m Enjoying Season 3 More Than I Expected

What I like most about this season is that it doesn’t need to reinvent Grand Blue.

There is a temptation with long-running comedy anime to make everything bigger and louder every time a new season arrives. Grand Blue already has plenty of volume.

Instead, the international setting gives the characters a new environment without changing the basic formula.

You still have:

• Iori being Iori
• Kohei’s obsessive otaku energy
• Chisa attempting to maintain some connection to reality
• The Peek-a-Boo club turning ordinary situations into disasters
• Diving scenes that remind us why this franchise exists in the first place

That last point matters.

The diving has always separated Grand Blue from other college comedies. Beneath all the drinking jokes and ridiculous facial expressions, there is a genuine appreciation for the ocean and scuba culture.

When the anime leans into that side of the story, the comedy actually becomes stronger because the beautiful moments make the stupidity around them even funnier.

The Episode Titles Are Worth Watching

The early Season 3 titles already give away the general direction of the story without spoiling everything.

The sequence moves through material involving unfinished business, returning home, passport problems, Palau and even a TV-related storyline before continuing into the later episodes.

The passport portion in particular sounds like exactly the sort of storyline that Grand Blue can turn into an absurd comedy of errors.

And that is probably my favorite thing about this cast: give them one completely normal objective and wait for them to destroy it.

Getting passports should not be a major adventure.

For Iori and his friends, apparently it is.

What About the Remaining Episodes?

As of late August, Episodes 1 through 8 are listed as released, while Episodes 9 through 12 remain upcoming.

The later episode titles have not been fully established in the schedule above, so I would rather leave them as TBA than pretend we know more than we do.

That is also the safest approach for anyone trying to avoid spoilers.

The biggest thing I’m watching for in the remaining episodes is how much of the Palau material the season manages to cover. The overseas setting has enormous potential, particularly because it gives the anime a chance to balance comedy with more substantial diving sequences.

If the adaptation keeps that balance, Season 3 could end up being one of the more memorable Grand Blue installments.

Final Thoughts: This Is Still Peak Grand Blue

At its best, Grand Blue Dreaming is not really about plot twists or complicated mythology.

It’s about watching a group of college students make spectacularly bad decisions while occasionally remembering that they are supposed to be scuba divers.

And somehow, it works.

Grand Blue Dreaming Season 3 has the advantage of moving the characters into a new environment while preserving everything that made the series popular in the first place. The Palau setting adds the possibility of bigger diving sequences, new characters and fresh situations, while Iori, Kohei and the Peek-a-Boo crew remain gloriously incapable of acting like responsible adults.

For US viewers, the schedule is also pleasantly straightforward: Mondays, with the listed Crunchyroll release around 8:30 AM PT / 11:30 AM ET.

If you’ve already been watching, August 31 is the next date to remember. If you’ve somehow avoided Season 3 until now, this is probably a good time to catch up.

Just don’t expect a peaceful diving anime.
