Nekosaki is connected to Rasetsu Academy as a part-time instructor. He presents himself as calm and polite, but there’s clearly something much more dangerous underneath that surface.
That’s exactly the kind of character I expect Tougen Anki to have fun with.
Okamoto has voiced plenty of characters who can switch between controlled dialogue and explosive intensity, so his voice feels like a natural fit for Nekosaki’s personality.
What Happens in the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc?
This is where things become considerably darker.
After the events in Kyoto and Nerima, Shiki and the other students have become much more capable fighters. Their training has pushed them further, but the next conflict isn’t simply another tournament-style battle or straightforward confrontation.
The characters discover a secret research facility near Kegon Falls in Nikko, where captured Oni are being subjected to cruel experiments.
That discovery changes the nature of the conflict.
Instead of simply fighting an enemy because they’re on the opposite side, Shiki and his allies are confronted with evidence of what the Momotaro side is willing to do to Oni prisoners. The resulting rescue mission puts the characters in a dangerous position while also raising some uncomfortable questions about the morality of both factions.
And that’s one of the things I enjoy most about Tougen Anki. Beneath all the supernatural battles and flashy blood techniques, the series keeps trying to complicate the idea of who is actually right.

Why I’m Looking Forward to Season 2
For me, the biggest reason to watch Tougen Anki Season 2 isn’t simply the return of Shiki.
It’s the fact that the story appears ready to expand.
The first season introduced the world, the Academy, the Oni powers, the Momotaro threat, and the basic rules of this conflict. The Nikko Kegon Falls Arc has the opportunity to take all of that and make the situation feel much bigger.
I’m particularly curious about the new blood abilities, the darker side of the Momotaro Agency, and how Shiki’s personality changes as he learns more about the world he’s been thrown into.
The split-cour format could also work in the show’s favor if the production team uses the additional time effectively. Twenty-four episodes is enough room for the arc to breathe, rather than rushing through important character moments simply to reach the next fight.
Final Thoughts
