That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 Episode Schedule: Release Dates, Cours, and Streaming Guide

There are some anime returns that feel like another seasonal release, and then there are shows that make you rearrange your Friday schedule. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 is definitely in the second category for me.

After everything Rimuru Tempest built throughout the previous seasons, I was honestly more interested in seeing what happens to Tempest politically than simply watching another giant magical battle. Thankfully, Season 4 appears to understand exactly what makes TenSura special. It is not just about Rimuru becoming stronger. It is about watching an entire nation grow around him.

The fourth season officially began on April 3, 2026, and the production plan is considerably larger than what we usually get from seasonal anime. Season 4 is planned as a huge five-cour project, with the first two cours running consecutively before the remaining parts arrive after a break.

That is an enormous commitment, but as a fan, I am not complaining.

Season 4 Is Taking the Long Road

The word “cour” can be confusing if you do not follow anime production closely. Basically, one cour represents roughly three months of television broadcasting, usually around 11 to 13 episodes.

For Season 4, the first two cours are designed to form a continuous 24-episode run from spring into summer 2026. After that, the anime takes a break before Cours 3, 4, and 5 arrive at later dates.

I actually think this format makes sense for TenSura.

The story has reached the point where rushing through political discussions, economic conflicts, character introductions, and world-building would hurt the experience. Rimuru’s biggest problems are no longer solved by simply walking into a battlefield and using overwhelming power.

There are nations to negotiate with. There are economic interests to consider. There are powerful enemies working behind the scenes.

And, of course, there is a certain slime who somehow has to keep everyone from starting an international incident.

So, if you are trying to keep up week by week, Friday is the day to remember.

There are two scheduled interruptions in this first 24-episode block. The first happened around Japan’s Golden Week period, while the second affected the July 31 broadcast.

Why Was Episode 17 Delayed?

This was probably the kind of announcement that made plenty of fans immediately start asking, “Is something wrong with production?”

Fortunately, the delay was not presented as a major production crisis.

Episode 17 was pushed from July 31 to August 7, 2026, with the interruption attributed to a Nippon TV scheduling conflict. Instead of treating the empty slot as a normal episode week, BS11 aired a recap special covering Rimuru’s progress through the season.

Personally, I would always rather have a one-week scheduling change than see an anime production team pushed into an unhealthy production crunch. TenSura has enough material to work with without sacrificing its animation quality just to maintain an artificial weekly deadline.

When Does TenSura Season 4 Release in the US?

For viewers in the United States, Crunchyroll is the main streaming destination for the Season 4 simulcast.

The Japanese broadcast takes place Friday night in Japan, which means American viewers get the new episode during Friday morning depending on their time zone.

The expected release pattern is:

  • Pacific Time: 8:00 AM Friday
  • Mountain Time: 9:00 AM Friday
  • Central Time: 10:00 AM Friday
  • Eastern Time: 11:00 AM Friday

That Friday-morning slot is actually perfect for me. It is early enough to avoid most of the day’s spoilers, assuming I stay away from social media for a few hours.

And with TenSura, avoiding spoilers is becoming increasingly important. The story has reached the point where even a single character image or vague post can reveal more than you want to know.

What Is Season 4 Actually Adapting?

This is the part I am personally most excited about.

Season 4 moves into the Rozzo Clan conflict, bringing a different kind of threat to Rimuru and Tempest. Instead of simply throwing another ridiculously powerful monster at Rimuru, the story starts playing with economics, influence, political manipulation, and international pressure.

The Rozzo family represents exactly the kind of opponent that makes TenSura interesting.

You cannot solve every problem by becoming stronger.

The family, particularly Granville Rozzo and Maribel Rozzo, uses economic influence and political maneuvering to challenge Tempest. Trade restrictions, financial pressure, international relationships, and manipulation become weapons.

For me, this is where TenSura separates itself from a lot of other isekai series. I genuinely enjoy watching Rimuru deal with boring-sounding things like trade agreements because the show somehow manages to make them feel like strategic battles.

The Labyrinth and the Primordial Demons

The second cour expands the story further, particularly through the secrets surrounding Rimuru’s massive dungeon.

The labyrinth has always been one of the more entertaining ideas in TenSura because it combines Rimuru’s ridiculous creativity with the sheer number of powerful characters living under Tempest’s banner.

The appearance of the Primordial Demons is another major reason I am looking forward to this section.

Diablo has already demonstrated just how terrifying a Primordial can be, so seeing more of his demonic companions become involved gives the season a completely different flavor. At this point, Tempest is not just protected by one absurdly powerful monster.

Rimuru has essentially built an army of nightmares.

And somehow they are all working for a slime.

Why I Think the Five-Cour Format Could Work

At first, five cours sounds excessive.

Then I remember how much material TenSura has accumulated.

The world is enormous now. There are different nations, Demon Lords, political factions, ancient powers, economic systems, military alliances, and characters who can disappear from the story for dozens of episodes before suddenly becoming important again.

Trying to squeeze all of that into a single 12-episode season would be a disaster.

The extended format gives the story room to breathe. Characters can actually talk. Political decisions can have consequences. Battles can receive proper buildup instead of appearing out of nowhere.

Most importantly, Rimuru can continue being Rimuru.

One of my favorite things about TenSura has always been the contrast between Rimuru’s friendly personality and the terrifying amount of power sitting behind that smile. Season 4 has plenty of opportunities to push that contrast even further.

My Final Take on Season 4

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 feels like the beginning of TenSura’s next major era rather than simply another sequel season.

The 24-episode first block gives the story plenty of room to explore the Rozzo conflict, Tempest’s political position, the labyrinth, the Primordial Demons, and the larger threats waiting beyond the current storyline.

There are scheduled breaks, but neither should be confused with a cancellation. The July interruption in particular is a broadcasting issue, not something that should make fans panic about the future of the anime.

For US viewers, the easiest strategy is simple: keep Fridays open and check Crunchyroll around your local morning release time.

As someone who has followed Rimuru from an ordinary salaryman turned slime into the leader of one of the most powerful nations in the setting, I am genuinely curious where the story goes from here. The funny part is that I am not even waiting for Rimuru to become stronger anymore.

I want to see what he does with everything he has already built.

And knowing Rimuru, whatever happens next is probably going to turn into an international incident by Friday morning.
